3D Wall Hanging Glass tile and Mineral Mosaic Matador by Genaro Alvarez 1955

Rare unusual mosaic of glass tile with chunks of mineral and mineral chips creating a matador in a close encounter with a bull. The composition is segmented by straight lines of thin gilt mirrored tiles.

Created in Mexico by one of its masters of this medium Genaro Alvarez in the mid -1950s. The piece is in excellent vintage condition with only slight wear to the frame consistent with its age. 48" H x 17" W.
