Danish Sun Catcher Zodiac Glass Plaque/ Wall Tile Attributed to Holmegaard 1960. For sale is a very heavy glass plaque with what I take to be the Zodiac sign for Leo (Lion). From the reasearch I have been able to do this is one of the very rare Zodica tile made by Holmegaard in the 1960s. I have been able to view an identical sized tile with a female image for Virgo online that was attributed to Holmegaard & been in communication with a person who has an archer (Sagittarius) that is also attributed Holmegaard. Information regarding this range is very limited.
It weighs just under 2.4kg & that coupled with the unliklely chance anyone would want all 12 when new makes me think examples of each design were only made in very small quantities. I certainly can find no images online of any other apart from the same Virgo tile on sale in a couple of different places. Its a rare thing & an opportunity for one of the many suncatcher collectors to get something no other person will have. At 2.4kg without packing its too heavy for most small parcel services. This object (as shown in the picture) stands roughly 20.
