VTG Signorini Carlo Mossicieta Dove Mosaic Tile Art Glass Wall Hanging
This is a stunning mosaic stone and glass tile art piece by the studio of Signorini Carlo of Ravenna, Italy. I believe the creation date to be 1960's - 1970's. There are reflective, shimmering, gold and bronze tiles set off by pristine white, black, blue and orange tiles. The handcut stone and glass tiles appear to be set in concrete on a plywood back.
The tiles are set in the rough, uneven, light reflective style of their family tradition. Carlo is the son of Renato Signorini, headmaster and mosaic artist at the Academy of Arts Mosaic School. Carlo Signorini assisted his father for 20 years, then carried on the family tradition with his studio "II Mosaic" which gained an international recognition. The piece is very heavy, weighing 5 pounds 2 ounces and measures approximately 11 3/4" x 10 3/4" x 3/4.
